Flights from Birmingham Airport to Amritsar, now available on Saturdays

Air India has recently increased the frequency of flights from Birmingham Airport to Amritsar, located in the state of Punjab, India. The decision to increase the flights’ frequency was taken on 5th May; just few months after these non-stop flights were launched.

Flights now operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday evenings.  The aircraft is the Boeing 787-8 ‘Dreamliner’, having 256 seats: 18 of them business class, while the other 236 are economy.

Air India and Birmingham Airport became partners in 2013, and included a regular flight to New Delhi in their agreement. Since then, more than 600,000 passengers have travelled with this airline, and approximately 28,000 citizens fly each year from Birmingham to Amritsar.

As the Acting Aviation Director at Birmingham Airport Tom Screen remarked, these numbers show how considerable the existing demand is.
