Theresa May highlights potential deal with Australia post-Brexit

Australian high commissioner Alexander Downer has said that Australia would push for better access to the UK market. Of special interest are agricultural produce, banks and making the visa process for Australians moving to Britain easier. Theresa May highlighted a potential deal with Australia in her speech about post-Brexit trading relationships last week.

The trade with Australia is currently small. Only 1% of exports from the UK head to Australia and imports from down under aren’t large either. This is due to many different obstacles, especially in the agricultural sector.
