H2020 workshop held in Birmingham, December 2015

In December 2015 the Europe Association held a workshop in Birmingham. The event targeted SMEs and SME intermediaries from universities to share experiences of how SMEs are being supported in the Horizon 2020 programme. The aim of the session was to see how the Association can improve support to our SMEs to facilitate their uptake and engagement in Horizon 2020 opportunities.

H2020Delegates left the workshop with additional insight into the H2020 SME instrument and other SME-focussed EU Commission initiatives. They heard from International Synergies Ltd, an SME already successful in accessing Horizon 2020 and benefited from the insight of a Horizon 2020 assessor. Jane Watkins of Innovate UK (the UK National Contact Point for the H2020 SME Instrument) talked about the SME programme and how West Midlands SMEs can get involved.
