Icelandair is pleased to announce it will commence services from Iceland to Chicago O’Hare International Airport from March 2016. The service will operate throughout the year with 4 flights per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays).  Chicago will be the airlines 11th gateway in the US bringing the total in North America to 15 with fast and easy connections from 5 UK gateways.

Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel said: “Chicago is a diverse and thriving city with a desire to explore the world and other cultures. Icelandair will open the door to opportunities for Chicagoans and we embrace their return. We look forward to the trade and tourism they will facilitate for both Chicago and Europe through the beautiful country of Iceland.”

Icelandair’s geographic position on the shortest flight path between UK and North America means it offers the quickest route to many of the existing 14 gateways they fly to.
