City leaders meet the European Parliament’s Urban Intergroup

City leaders from the EUROCITIES network met MEPs from the European Parliament’s Urban Intergroup on 25 February.

This follows the European Commission’s launch last year of a debate on the EU urban agenda. The EU Urban Agenda is essentially about how EU initiatives that impact cities can be better co-ordinated and how cities can be more involved in EU policy making.

This meeting between EUROCITIES and MEPs moved the political discussion a step further by bringing together local and EU level perspectives together. Sir Albert Bore hosted a thematic discussion on sustainable urban mobility as part of this event.
