Birmingham City Council were delighted to welcome US Embassy representatives for a two day visit on 26th and 27th January 2015.  Ms Victoria King, First Secretary, Economics, Justine Lancaster, Political Specialist and Dan Burford, Safety Program Coordinator are the official new Team Birmingham for the embassy.  The visit is part of an exciting U.S. initiative to develop a greater understanding of where mutually beneficial opportunities may lie for the U.S. with cities outside London. The team had meetings with Marketing Birmingham, the University of Birmingham, Aston Villa , Birmingham City University, Turves Green Girls School and Birmingham City Council in order to gain a greater understanding of Birmingham’s US links.  Victoria said ‘We found the visit extremely informative and want to build on the knowledge we have gained.  The US is the biggest inward investor to Birmingham and we are keen to add value to the US/Birmingham relationship.’
