Frankfurt Christmas Market, Birmingham

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market returns to the city for five weeks from Thursday 13 November.

Set up through our partner city connections with the City of Frankfurt, this is the 14th consecutive year that the Frankfurt Christmas Market has been held in Birmingham. It is now firmly established as a flagship event for the festive season, growing in both size and popularity to become the largest authentic German market outside of Germany and Austria.

This year there are 98 stalls from Frankfurt.  This is complemented by the adjoining 82 Craft Market stalls on Chamberlain Square and Centenary Square featuring products from local traders, as well as the return of the popular ice rink and big wheel.

The European & International Affairs Team has an on-going role in liaising between Frankfurt and Birmingham in the run up to, and during, the Market. We also co-ordinate a programme for Birmingham special schools to be able to visit the market. Schools activity packs are also available to download for any school organising their own visit to the market.
