Seminar on Erasmus+ Programme for education, training, youth and sport, 25 November 2014

Birmingham City Council’s European and International Team will be holding a briefing session on the EU’s Erasmus+ Programme for education, training, youth and sport https://www.erasmusplus.org.uk/ on Tuesday 25th November 2014  between 9.30 and 12.00 in Birmingham. Presentations will be delivered by Ecorys UK who, alongside the British Council are the UK National Agency for the programme.

Erasmus+ started on 1 January 2014 and replaces current funding programmes run by the European Commission in the area of education, training, youth and sport, including the Lifelong Learning Programme (ErasmusComeniusLeonardoGrundtvig and Transversal), Youth in Action.

Erasmus+ aims to boost skills and employability as well as modernise education, training, and youth work across Europe. It has a budget of approximately 14.7 billion euros across Europe and will, over the next seven years, provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad and will also support transnational partnerships between education, training and youth organisations, as well as support grassroots sport projects.

The workshop is free and for organisations from the greater Birmingham area that are developing  projects aimed at meeting the educational, skills and learning needs of young people, teachers and trainers across the region. The workshop will :

  • Explain the types of EU funding available
  • Go through the different elements of the Erasmus+ Programme and the subsequent deadlines
  • Detail eligible activities and funding requirements
  • Help source European partners
  • Provide an overview of the application process
