Birmingham City University launches Centre for Brexit Studies this month

The Centre for Brexit Studies (CBS) has the purpose to further enhance the consequences of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union. The launch will take place on Thursday January 26th and will be accessible to the general public. It will host conferences, workshops and seminars in the future, to share knowledge about sectors that are most likely to be impacted by Brexit. Some of them are: cultural identity, hate crime and radicalisation, climate change and national security.

As Alex de Ruyter, director of research at Birmingham City University’s Business School and chair of the launch event, says it is important now to understand what impact Brexit has on individuals, communities, business and government.

Although the Centre for Brexit Studies will have a national focus, investigating the impacts of Brexit on Birmingham and surrounding areas is one of its main purposes.
