The Phoenix Newspaper Official Launch, 5th Anniversary Gala Dinner & Awards Presentation

DinnerSmallThe Phoenix Newspaper Official Launch, 5th Anniversary Gala Showcase and Awards Presentation will take place on Saturday 5th December 2015 at the Bethel Convention Centre in West Bromwich, supporting Acorns Children’s Hospice and African-Caribbean Leukaemia Trust.

The theme of the day’s celebrations is Connecting Communities & Community Cohesion, including Health & Wellbeing, Communication & Education, and Travel & Tourism – and the celebration will celebrate its 5th birthday with a BANG!

There are plenty of activities to commemorate the paper’s milestone

The event will begin with an official cutting of the ribbon.

The day long celebrations will begin with the inaugural PhoenExpo 2015, a business exhibition and a ‘Family Fun’ day. The exhibition is an ideal opportunity for businesses to raise their profile by showcasing their products and services to an audience of Phoenix readers. The ‘Family Fun’ activities include refreshments and entertainment for all and an exclusive Grand Market – bringing a taste of Jamaica to the West Midlands.

The evening will see a prestigious Black Tie gala meal with a 4 course sit-down meal, followed by the 5th Anniversary Gala Awards Presentation, with talent and key guests speakers from across the globe as well as a vibrant celebration of the Commonwealth with representation from member nations.

Confirmed Guest Speakers include;

  • Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant, Paul Sabapathy CBE
  • Keith Stokes-Smith, Chairman of the Birmingham Commonwealth Association
  • Deborah Leary OBE – Director of CommonWealth.
  • Erica A Murray, Rockstar Entrepreneur, USA.

Performances from The Phoenix Trio (Mark Dwayne, Daniel Riley and Camara Fearon), Dhol Blasters, Jamma Steel Pan, Sticky Toffee Dancers, Gospel Central and other special guests will punctuate the Gala Awards presentations throughout the evening.
